The scouts have been organised into 3 patrols.
Activities – we have had some interesting and varied activities this year, including:
DIY badge – tiling, wiring a plug, bricklaying etc.
Fire lighting and outdoor cooking
Pancake making
Airfix models
‘Ice’ Hockey competition
Ready, Steady, Cook, with mystery ingredients
Night Hikes
Rounder’s Matches
Wide games – e.g. the Polar Challenge
Making hovercrafts and hot air balloons
Paper aeroplanes and gliders
Pioneering skills – e.g. drawbridges and chariots
First Aid
Summer Camp – this took place at Lyons Copse campsite near Shedfield, Southampton. The camp was organised jointly with the cub section.
Various activities, included:
•Tent pitching
•Cooking on tangier stoves
•Hiking and navigation
•Orienteering
•Campfire circle
•Next year we hope to have at least two camps, one in autumn and one in summer.
